Brian Cannon Motorsports / Andy Forsberg Update

Petaluma, CA, (July 5, 2010) - On Saturday July 3rd the Brian Cannon Motorsports team headed to Petaluma CA for a 360 Civil War race.  Andy was 9th quick and was running 2nd in his heat race when a very questionable and unnecessary move was put on Andy by another driver.  Major contact to the outside was the result for Andy and heavy damage caused to the car.

The crew went to work as the rear end and front end had to be replaced.  The front of the frame was broken and bent to the point where the traditional torsion bar suspension would not work, so coil over shocks were borrowed from Sean Becker’s team and the car was repaired in time for the B main event.

Andy would go onto win the B and would start 9th in the A main event.  The car was working pretty good in the A considering how patched up it was and by lap 25, Andy was in the 5th spot.  Unfortunately on lap 26 the 4th place car got sideways in front of Andy and contact was made causing Andy to spin into the in field and come back on the track towards the back.  With few laps left, Andy would finish the race in 12th and put an end to a absolute horrible night.

A huge thank you to Jeremy Burt’s Crew, Joey Magaruh, and Sean Becker’s team for the help getting us back on the track.

On Sunday July 4th, the Brian Cannon Motorsports team started their morning repairing the car from the prior nights event.  At one point, the car was almost a bare frame as the rear end, front end, and motor were all out of the car while the crew made repairs for the 4th of July 360 race in Placerville later that day.

By 1:30, the car was fired and loaded and the team was off to the races.  Andy was 3rd quick 2nd in his heat race and would line up 5th in the A main event.  Unfortunately, having the show mostly in the daytime took its toll on the track, and by the Main event, the track was dusty, dry slick, and a 1 groove no passing track.

Andy was able to get around 1 car and finished 4th for the night, a good finish for the team.  Andy still holds on to the lead in both the Placerville Points series and the California Civil War Series.

This upcoming weekend, the team is back to normal.  Andy will be in Chico, CA, on Friday racing the #92 A&A Motorsports 410 Sprint car, and will be in Placerville, CA, driving the #47 Brian Cannon Motorsports 360 for a Points Show on Saturday.
