Stockcar Racing
Kevin Harvick of Richard Childress Racing won Saturday night's Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway. The victory was Harvick's second of the season and the 13th of his career. Harvick crossed the finish line a car-length ahead of Kasey Kahne and solidified his hold on the top spot in the Cup standings, with a 212 point lead ahead of Jeff Gordon. Dale Earnhardt Jr. won Friday's Subway Jalapeno 250 Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway, driving the No. 3 Wrangler Chevrolet. This was of Earnhardt's 23rd career victory and his first win in the series since Aug. 19, 2006, when he took the checkered flag at Michigan. It was also his first points win in any of NASCAR's top three series since June 15, 2008, when Earnhardt captured the Lifelock 400 Sprint Cup race at Michigan.
IRL Racing
Team Penske had a solid performance this weekend with qualifying results of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and a stellar 1st and 2nd finish with Will Power winning the pole position at the Camping World GP in Watkins Glen.
Raphael Matos of de Ferran Dragon Racing also ran an impressive race, working his way up from the 11th place starting position to a 4th place finish!
Grand-Am Racing
Drivers Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas of the TELMEX Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates team celebrated the 100th race for the Daytona Prototype class by scoring an impressive victory in Saturday's Brumos Porsche 250 at Daytona International Speedway, adding to their record win totals in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series' leading division. Short Track Racing
Lance Dewease drove to victory in the 30-lap Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek feature at Lincoln Speedway on July 1st. This is Dewease's 33rd career victory at the track and he became the fifth different Speedweek feature winner in five races this season. To learn more about Lance, visit his homepage.
Craig Von Dohren completed a perfect trifecta Saturday night at Grandview Speedway, where he drove from 17th to the lead in 11 laps of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series 358-Modified feature. On Friday night at Big Diamond Raceway, Von Dohren surged from 14th starting spot to take the lead on the 27th lap. Von Dohren's week kicked off Tuesday with a drive from ninth to the win in the Thunder on the Hill Series 358-Modified 25-lap event. You can read more about Craig on his official website.
Randy West of Boyertown, PA ran a flawless twenty-five laps to win the Rislone URC Sprint Series feature event on Fred's Trailer Parts Night at the New Egypt Speedway Saturday night. This marks Randy's third career Rislone URC Sprint Series win.
