Johnny Lewis Has Best Career Finish at Daytona

Reading, PA (March 7, 2010) - After nine long months off to recuperate from a knee injury, Jonny Lewis returned to racing like he had never missed a day in his life!  Not only did Lewis earn his best-ever career finish in the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship season opener at the Daytona Short Track, he also captured the win in the March 3rd Expert Dash for Cash.

After qualifying with the 6th fastest time amongst 150 competitors, Lewis won his heat race which placed him in the Expert Dash. He went on to win the four-lap race, beating out 77 other riders. Running up front throughout the 25-lap main, Lewis placed 6th, improving his best pro flat track finish of 7th in 2009.

Night two also proved to be successful for Lewis and the Scott Powersports team. Qualifying with the 3rd fastest time, Lewis won his heat race and placed 4th in the 25-lap main, now his greatest ever pro flat track finish!

"I am super pumped and couldn’t have asked for much more during my first week back to racing,” stated Lewis. "The custom suspension from Penske Racing Shocks is the best I’ve ever used in flat track and it made a difference in my performance. Winning the Extra Dash the first night was cool, but finishing fourth in an AMA Grand National is the best! I appreciate all my sponsors who believed in my return to racing this year.”

Partnering with Penske Racing Shocks, Lewis and Scott Powersports equipped their #10 Honda CRF450R with a customized shock and fork set-up designed specifically for flat track racing. A world leader in suspension technology for over 20 years, Penske Racing Shocks offers a complete line of customized flat-track suspension including, shock absorbers, OEM shock revalve services, fork kits, and more.
