PENSKE RACING SHOCKS LEAD THE WAY AT INDY
Reading, PA — May 18, 2009 — Penske Racing Shocks (PRS), a world leader in racing damper technology, will dominate the field at Indianapolis.
Teams looking for top qualifying speeds have chosen Penske Racing Shocks as their damper of choice for the 2009 Indianapolis 500. In fact, an impressive 23 of the 33 starters (70%) in the race are equipped with Penske Racing Shocks, including the entire front row.
This year, to provide added support to customers, PRS leased a space in the paddock to serve as a service and sales satellite hub for the month of May. Complete with a shock dyno, debriefing area, and full service station with vices and tools, the space allowed PRS technicians to be on-site just a few steps away from team garages.
Open-Wheel manager, Aaron Lambert, adds “This year has been very successful for Penske Racing Shocks. We’re pleased that we have been able to provide top-notch support to all competitors by staying in the garage area and supplying quick response to the teams. We have the best technicians on hand to assist teams in achieving the success needed to make the field. We definitely noticed an increase in the level of competition. This has been one of the closest fields in recent years and it was good for us because the teams have to use all resources available to qualify. Our dampers perform extremely well on the ovals, and we feel the results are proof of that.”
Penske Racing Shocks has enjoyed great success at the Brickyard over the past few years, capturing victory 6 times since 2000.
